1 Million Boys: Gang Members Terrorizing Abesan Estate Arrested
The warning by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, earlier to the criminals that they do not have any hiding place in the State for their nefarious activities may not be a fluke following the arrest of three armed robbers in Ipaja area of Lagos days ago.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that three daredevil armed robbers terrorizing the residents of Abesan Estate, Ipaja area of Lagos met their dead end after Police operatives from Ipaja Division led by the DPO, CSP Tokunmbo Aboniwonda, busted them during operation.
The suspects identified as Segun Oluwole 21, Jamiu Olanrewaju 20 and Idris Eniola 25, reportedly stormed the area at about 3am and started robbing houses.
However, Police operatives received information, quickly moved to the scene, repelled and arrested them with cutlasses, iron bar and other weapons, which they used to inflict injuries on the victims.
Apart from arresting them with arms, the Police also recovered 14 different makes of mobile phones and sim cards of different networks stolen from their owners during operations.
This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who said that the suspects were in Police net undergoing interrogation over the incident.
According to the residents, the bandits came to the Estate in the early hours of the morning and started breaking doors and windows, attacking and robbing victims with their arms. One of the victims was an 85-year old man, who was beaten up mercilessly despite his age and others.
The action of the Police attracted the commendation of the residents, who thanked the Police for their prompt response in line with the determination of the Commissioner of Police to rid the State of criminal elements who are still trying to test the capacity of the Police in the State.
When P.M.EXPRESS visited Ipaja Police Division to speak with the DPO, she was said to have moved out for routine monitoring of the area to ascertain the level of compliance over the lockdown occasioned by Covid-19.

However, Police source said that the suspects may likely be transferred to the FSARS in Ikeja for further investigation or be charged to Court for armed robbery operations, which attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.
