According to a source, the deceased who was known as Pablo among university students, lived away from the campus where the incident occurred.

The source added the deceased complained about the food he and his girlfriend had earlier eaten at a restaurant.

However, after they had been treated at the hospital, they went home, where the deceased was discovered dead on Sunday morning.

“Gbenga and his girlfriend went to eat at a restaurant in the town and he later complained about stomach ache but they both went to the hospital and later returned home after they were treated.

“But it was surprising that on Sunday morning, he did not come out of his room, on Sunday morning at about 11, he didn’t also pick up his call.

“So the curious neighbours had to break his door and found him dead,” the source said.
The source further disclosed that there was reason to believe the deceased had food poisoning because he had previously complained of stomach pain after eating the food.

Prof. Olusegun Akanbi, the school’s dean of student affairs, responded to the unpleasant situation by confirming the incident and stating that the graduate passed away on Sunday morning.

“The Head of the Department of Philosophy just called me and it was discovered that he ( deceased) passed on Sunday and his parents had already come,” he said.

Also reacting, the Head of Media and Protocols of the AAUA, Victor Akinpelumi, said the institution has set up an investigative panel to look into the matter.
