Ikpeazu has dismissed Local Govt Chairmen and councillors in Abia.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has sacked all 17 elected Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councilors in the state.
In a statement on Sunday by his spokesman, Onyebuchi Ememanka, the governor sacked the local council officials following the expiration of their two-year tenure in office.

Ikpeazu, who asked them to hand over local government properties in their custody to the Head of Service of their various councils, appreciated them for their services and wish them well in their future endeavors.
The statement reads: “Following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Council, the governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved their dissolution. The governor thanked them for their services and wish them well in their future endeavors.
“The governor further directs that they hand over to the Head of Service of their various Local Government Councils. The dissolution takes immediate effect.”
Meanwhile, a tragic Christmas day road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan highway reportedly claimed three lives.
The tragic incident occurred this morning at about 5:50 am, one kilometre away from the Kara turning.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a total of 18 male adults were involved in the accident. Confirming the incident, FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe said six persons sustained various digress of injuries in the incident.

Three casualties according to Okpe were recorded in the accident and that the remaining nine people were unhurt.
