Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has applauded sports leaders, technical teams, and fans for the resounding success of the just-concluded table tennis championship held in the district.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Senator, who spoke at the closing ceremony, praised key stakeholders of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Africa and the Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) for their dedication to advancing sports excellence in Nigeria.

Among the dignitaries acknowledged were Engr. Habu Gumel, President ITTF Africa; Dr. Kweku Tandoh, ITTF Africa Chief Operating Officer; Mr. Ferdinard Sounou, ITTF Africa Regional Vice President (West); Dr. Adesoji Tayo, President of the Nigerian Table Tennis Federation (NTTF); and Mr. Deji Abisola, Chief Impact Officer of the SAIL Empowerment Foundation.
“Your efforts have made this tournament not only successful but memorable,” Abiru stated, commending athletes, officials, and enthusiastic fans who contributed to the colourful sporting event.
The lawmaker also expressed gratitude to residents of Lagos East for their energetic participation and passionate support throughout the tournament, promising an even more impactful edition next year.

“We are already planning to make the next edition even bigger, better, and more inclusive,” he assured.
In his remarks, the Chief Impact Officer of SAIL Empowerment Foundation, Mr. Deji Abisola, reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to empowering young talents and promoting innovation.
