Adamawa: Police Nab Fake Officer for Extorting Keke NAPEP Riders
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old man, Shafiu Abdulkadir, for allegedly posing as a police officer and extorting money from unsuspecting individuals.
Abdulkadir, a resident of Anguwan Yelwa in Yola North Local Government Area, was apprehended on Thursday, September 26, as confirmed by a statement issued on Friday by the police.

The statement, signed by the Adamawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, revealed that the suspect had been extorting money from tricycle operators (Keke NAPEP) around Aliyu Mustapha Flyover and Jimeta Modern Market in Yola North LGA.
“His arrest followed information about some vigilante members threatening and extorting money from Keke NAPEP riders,” the statement said.

Upon arrest, Abdulkadir was found wearing police camouflage trousers, a black shirt labeled ‘Special Force,’ and boots, the statement added.
The suspect will face charges in court once investigations are concluded.
