EKO HOT BLOG reports that Adegoke, who holds the title of Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, secured victory in the party’s governorship primary after polling 16,051 votes to defeat four other aspirants.
The result was announced by the Chairman of the ADC Primary Election Committee, Hon. Rasak Salinsile, following the completion of the exercise conducted across the state.
According to the results announced by the committee, Chief Bisi Ilaka came second with 11,415 votes, while Chief Gbemilade Alagbe polled 241 votes. Dr Azeez Adeduntan secured 155 votes, while Barrister Niyi Aborishade recorded 67 votes.
Salinsile explained that the delay in announcing the results was due to the size of Oyo State, noting that results from some parts of the state arrived on Saturday afternoon.
In his acceptance speech, Adegoke pledged to work closely with the other aspirants and unite party members ahead of the governorship election.
“I am ready to work with everybody. We will work together. We will brainstorm together for the betterment of Oyo State.
“I will bring incremental development to Oyo State. Where the present government stops, that is where we will start,” he said.
He stressed that unity and collective effort would be necessary for the ADC to achieve victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
Meanwhile, the ADC Electoral Committee also announced the successful conclusion of the party’s House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senatorial District primary elections held at the ADC State Secretariat in Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan.
The exercise was witnessed by the Oyo State ADC Chairman elect, Rt. Hon. Afees Jimoh.
Salinsile stated that the committee was mandated by the party’s national leadership to conduct a transparent, credible, and democratic primary process across Oyo State.
According to him, candidates successfully emerged for the 32 House of Assembly constituencies, 14 House of Representatives constituencies, and the three senatorial districts in the state.
The party announced Hon. Kamil Akinlabi Mudashiru as candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Sule Kabiru Ayinde for Oyo North, and Mrs Tanimowo Modupe Grace for Oyo South.
Several candidates also emerged for House of Representatives and House of Assembly positions across the state, while the candidate for Ibadan North West State Constituency is expected to be announced later by the party.

Salinsile added that the exercise reflected the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy, fairness, and inclusiveness, with delegates and stakeholders actively participating in the process.
