EKO HOT BLOG reports that the party said the talks are aimed at building a strong political platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s deepening economic and governance challenges, rather than simply unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this on Friday in Abuja, describing the engagement as preliminary but necessary given the country’s current situation.
According to Abdullahi, Nigeria is facing what he described as an existential challenge that requires collective action beyond party lines.
“We are having primary conversations, it’s possible, and like we said, any party or any group of politicians or political group that is willing to work with us, because the situation we face today as a country is an existential challenge,” he said.
He lamented the worsening economic conditions across the country, noting that Nigeria has reached a level never experienced in its history.
“Nigeria has never been where we are today as a country and as a people, and you can begin to mention various indices to explain that,” Abdullahi stated.
He added that the ADC is open to working with individuals and groups who believe the country no longer reflects the dreams and aspirations of its citizens.
“So anyone that believes that this Nigeria today is not the Nigeria that supports the dreams and ambitions of millions of citizens, regardless of who their father or mother is, is welcome to work with us,” he said.
Abdullahi stressed that the ADC’s focus is not on President Bola Tinubu as an individual, but on improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
“People talk about how do you stop President Bola Tinubu or how we can help take power from him. I can assure you that is not our interest,” he said.

“We do not sit down to discuss President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We discuss how to ease the pains that everyday Nigerians are facing. It is the only thing that can justify our existence,” Abdullahi added.
