EKO HOT BLOG reports that INEC had earlier de recognised two factions of the party led by Nafiu Bala Gombe and David Mark.
Despite the development, Abdullahi, in a statement shared on 𝕏 on Sunday, said the party witnessed increased public support.
“Between 7:00 PM on April 1st, when @inecnigeria released its statement, and 5:00 PM today, over half a million (500,000) new Nigerians have joined the ADC,” he wrote.
He had earlier made a similar disclosure on Thursday, stating that tens of thousands registered within hours of the announcement.
“Between 7:00 PM last night when the INEC Statement came out, and 7:00 AM this morning, over 40,000 people have registered to join ADC,” he posted.
At a press conference held on Thursday, the party accused INEC of deliberately misinterpreting a Court of Appeal judgement and called for the immediate removal of Joash Amupitan.
The party maintained that the commission’s actions were unlawful and partisan, adding that it could no longer be trusted to act impartially.

In response, INEC defended its decision, stating that its actions were guided by the Court of Appeal judgement and aimed at upholding the rule of law.
