Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has appealed to residents to maintain their support for his administration by participating peacefully in the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence that every valid vote will be counted.
The governor made the appeal while addressing supporters during his campaign tour of communities in Isokan Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke thanked the traditional rulers and residents of Apomu and Ikoyi for their continued loyalty and encouragement over the years.
He assured the communities that his administration would sustain its commitment to inclusive governance and continue implementing projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
Adeleke said his government would prioritise the expansion of infrastructure, better educational facilities, improved healthcare services and initiatives that create more economic opportunities for the people.
He stressed that development would continue to reach every part of Osun State, with the goal of ensuring all communities benefit from democratic governance.
The governor urged eligible voters to conduct themselves peacefully during the election and turn out in large numbers to cast their ballots.
“My administration will continue to deliver people-focused projects and ensure inclusive governance across Osun State. We will keep investing in infrastructure, education, healthcare and job creation so that every community benefits from the dividends of democracy,” he said.
He added that residents should support the electoral process by voting peacefully, expressing confidence that every legitimate vote would be recognised.
During the visit, the Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Afolabi, and the Olukoyi of Ikoyi, Oba Taofeek Morenigbade, offered prayers for the governor’s success in the forthcoming election.
The traditional rulers also praised the administration’s developmental efforts, saying the projects executed across the state had positively impacted many communities.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with 14 candidates contesting the poll, including Adeleke, who is seeking another term on the platform of the Accord Party.
