AFN Invite Athletes To Participate In June 16-18 National Trial
- AFN has invited various organizations to the Nigeria National Trials from June 16-18, 2024.
- All athletes, including those already qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games, must participate.

Eko Hot Blog reports that The Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, has issued invitations to State Athletics Associations, military and paramilitary organizations, educational institutions, and athletic clubs to participate in the Nigeria National Trials, scheduled for June 16-18, 2024, at the Sam Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

According to Thursday’s release signed by AFN Secretary-General Rita Mosinidi.
The trials aim to select athletes to represent Nigeria at the African Senior Athletics Championships in Douala, Cameroon (June 21-26, 2024).
As well as the Olympic Games in Paris, France (July 26-August 11, 2024), and the World U-20 Championship in Lima, Peru (August 27-31, 2024).
All athletes are advised to participate in the trials to be eligible for selection for the African Senior Championships.
The Olympic Games, and the World U-20 Championships, regardless of their current qualification status.
However, the directive mandates that all athletes who have secured spots for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris must participate in the trials.
Ese Brume recently secured her spot in the event by achieving a leap of 6.87 m at the Adidas Atlanta City Games, joining Ruth Usoro as the second Nigerian long jumper.
This accomplishment undoubtedly showcases the increasing strength and talent of Nigerian women across different sports.
The expanding lists of qualifiers now includes wrestler Adekuoroye Adegoroye, Taekwondo athlete Elizabeth Anyanacho.
