The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced that Nigerian airline operators will now purchase Jet A1 fuel exclusively from the Dangote Refinery.
This move follows an agreement between the operators and the refinery, which has Keyamo’s full support.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that during an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday, Keyamo explained that this development, combined with the government’s new naira-for-crude deal with Dangote Refinery, will help ease pressure on Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves.
“The airline operators just met recently, and with my blessing, they decided to source their Jet A1 fuel only from Dangote Refinery.
The deal is entirely in naira, with no dollar component,” Keyamo stated.
He further noted that the arrangement will protect airline operators from international crude oil price fluctuations, stabilizing fuel costs and reducing operational expenses.
“The price will no longer be influenced by global market factors. By using local currency, we will have clearer, more predictable fuel costs, providing access to cheaper Jet A1 fuel,” he added.
