EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to Sahara Reporters, the move is intended to allow the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions (SCEPPP) to officially exonerate him while intensifying efforts to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan indefinitely.
Sources reveal that both Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan will appear before the Senate committee, led by Senator Neda Imasuen, in what has been described as a bid to “fulfil all righteousness.”
The alleged plan includes presenting Akpabio as officially innocent while using the committee’s findings to push for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s removal for the rest of her tenure.
The investigation has gained traction following recent remarks by Senator Ireti Kingibe, who voiced support for the probe, and Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi’s interview on Channels TV, which reportedly aligns with the plot to sideline Akpoti-Uduaghan.
A high-ranking source revealed, “The plan is to suspend Senator Natasha until the end of her tenure in 2027.

Akpabio To Step Down
The report has already been prepared, and the panel’s role is merely to formalize the process. Akpabio will step down for a brief period, face the panel, and soon after, he will be declared innocent while Natasha faces indefinite suspension.”
The unfolding scenario has sparked concerns over fairness and due process, with critics suggesting the move is a calculated attempt to eliminate opposition within the Senate.
