The incident, which took place a few days ago in the Gaga Area of Oke-Aro, Akure South Local Government, has left the community in mourning.
A family source revealed that the grandmother, who prepared the meal, and her grandchildren may have consumed food that was either poisoned or contaminated.

Two other grandchildren are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. A neighbor, identified as Isaac, expressed concern that although police and government officials had visited the house, an official investigation has not yet been initiated.
“We initially heard they consumed poisoned pap, but later, there were reports that they also ate fish from a pond in the compound, which might have been contaminated,” Isaac said.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, mentioned that the incident had not been officially reported to any police station.
