5 Bad Signs You Are Not Eating Enough Food
In this article on EKO HOT BLOG, we would be looking at some foods you should not keep in the fridge for preservation.
1. Potatoes, Onions And Garlic
Potatoes, onions, and garlic are at the top of the grocery list for some people. These foods prefer room temperature. A cold temperature breaks down the starches in potatoes, making them unpleasantly sweet.
The humidity of the refrigerator makes onions moldy and squashy. Garlic can’t stand cold temperatures either. To retain their powerful flavor, keep them in a well-ventilated place outside the fridge.
2. Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits, like lemons and oranges, remain fresh and juicy for longer if kept outside the fridge. This is why some old people prefer to keep their lemons wrapped in a newspaper or any paper bag. This helps preserve them for longer.
3. Ginger
Another strict suggestion is to keep ginger out of the fridge. It gets moldy in the fridge with time. When ginger is left out of the fridge, it might get dry with time, but it doesn’t lose its flavor and medicinal properties.
4. Watermelon
Melons like watermelon and muskmelon are also pretty sturdy and can easily remain fresh for a long time without refrigeration.
Of course, they taste best when a bit cool, so you can keep them in the fridge for one hour before eating, or opt for the old way of soaking them in water before cutting and eating them.
5. Mangos, Cucumbers And Egg plant
Mangos are recommended to be soaked in water before eating. Cucumbers rot faster in the cold. It’s better to keep them out of water or out of the refrigerator. Eggplants can’t stand cold either, causing them to become soft very quickly.

6. Bread
Keeping bread in the fridge is also not the best idea because, at low temperatures, water evaporates significantly faster, so the bread will become dry and brittle. Bread is best kept in a tightly closed box, or simply tie it tightly with a rubber band.
