- Amaechi’s Presidential Ambition to Unseat Tinubu ‘Laughable’ – Lagos APC
- Accuses him of inconsistency
- The party maintained that while President Tinubu has built leaders, Amaechi’s political path has been defined by internal conflicts
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as laughable former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi’s claim that he could defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if given the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Saturday, the party described Amaechi’s remarks as “the desperate outburst of a political has-been seeking relevance,” insisting that he lacked the pedigree, political network, and nationwide support to challenge the president.

According to the statement, the notion that Amaechi could unseat a sitting president elected with a clear mandate and respected across all regions, on the platform of a fringe party like the ADC, is both unrealistic and absurd.
The Lagos APC also accused the former Rivers State governor of political inconsistency, alleging that he failed to win even his own polling unit in the last election.

It further dismissed his claim of knowing Tinubu’s “weaknesses” as a sign of resentment rooted in a turbulent political career.
The party maintained that while President Tinubu has built leaders, strengthened institutions, and established a track record of performance, Amaechi’s political path has been defined by internal conflicts, disloyalty, and self-serving ambitions.
