Amid Ongoing Drama, Lawmakers Pass Vote of Confidence on Meranda as LAHA Speaker

- The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Oladipo Ajomale, a lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo II constituency, who emphasized that Meranda had been democratically elected by the lawmakers and that they believed she was the right leader for the House at this critical juncture.
- The House however adjourned sitting till further notice.
Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly demonstrated their unwavering support for Speaker Mojisola Meranda on Monday, as they unanimously passed a vote of confidence in her ability to lead the House.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the show of solidarity is sequel to the wake of a security operation by the Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF), which had earlier sealed the offices of the Speaker, her Deputy, and the House Clerk.
