The Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this in a statement issued on Wednesday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting, urging them to embrace self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace.
He also emphasized the importance of love, forgiveness, and solidarity in fostering national unity.
The minister called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the country’s peace, stability, and prosperity, expressing hope that Eid-el-Fitr would inspire stronger unity across religious and ethnic divides.
He further encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly while extending kindness to the less privileged, in line with the true essence of Ramadan and Eid.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, he extended heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslim faithful and prayed that the blessings of the season bring happiness, success, and fulfillment to everyone,” the statement read.
