The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Raji-Anomo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Mufutau Akani Hassan, popularly known as Baba Russia, describing him as a respected political leader, community builder, and committed advocate of grassroots development.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a condolence message issued on behalf of the Executive Cabinet, Legislative Arm, Management, Staff, and residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, the chairman described the late Baba Russia as a highly revered member of the Apex Leadership of the council’s political family whose contributions to the growth and unity of the community would remain indelible.
According to Anomo, the death of Baba Russia represents a painful loss not only to his immediate family but also to political associates, friends, supporters, and the entire people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
The council chairman noted that throughout his lifetime, the deceased distinguished himself as a loyal party stalwart, bridge-builder, and dependable elder statesman whose wisdom and counsel were highly valued by many.
He further stated that Baba Russia’s unwavering commitment to peace, unity, political development, and community progress earned him widespread admiration and respect across Epe Division and beyond.
Anomo described the late political leader as a man of courage, integrity, and dedication whose legacy of service would continue to inspire future generations.
While extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, fellow Apex Leaders, political associates, and friends of the deceased, the chairman prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him eternal rest, and admit him into Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
