APC, PDP Supporters Clash In Jigawa, Kill One

  • As the elections draw closer, members of opposition parties begin to clash, as seen in Jigawa State with the attack on APC party headquarters in Gangare Quarters.

  • A 37-year-old man, Abdullahi Isiyaku, was reportedly the victim of a group of PDP supporters who raided the APC party premises.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a violent clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.

The incident took place in Maigatari local government area when PDP supporters arrived at the APC’s party headquarters in Gangare Quarters and allegedly attacked 37-year-old Abdullahi Isiyaku. The victim was rushed to Gumel General Hospital but later died from his injuries.

The police in Jigawa state have confirmed the death and issued a statement regarding the incident.

The spokesman of the state police command, DSP Lawan Shiisu, reported that five suspects have been arrested in connection with the clash and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a discreet investigation.

This violent altercation serves as a reminder of the need for political leaders and supporters to advocate for peaceful and non-violent political discourse and to respect each other’s right to political expression.
