- Apostle Harrison Ayintete of Goodness Nation has publicly called out Zoe Household Global Pastor, Adedolapo Lawal, over his recent sermon attacking the eternal security of the believer.
- Pastor Lawal argued that salvation requires continuous repentance, holy living, and obedience, claiming that the “hyper-grace” message promotes moral laxity within the Christian church.
- Rejecting Lawal’s stance, Apostle Ayintete insisted that eternal life cannot see condemnation, daring the Zoe Household pastor to an open theological debate on the scriptural validity of grace.
A heated theological dispute has erupted within Nigeria’s online Christian community as Apostle Harrison Ayintete, the lead pastor at Goodness Nation, directed sharp criticism toward Pastor Adedolapo Lawal of Zoe Household Global.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the clash centers on the highly contested doctrine of “once saved, always saved”, otherwise known as eternal security.

Ayintete openly faulted Lawal’s recent scriptural interpretations regarding the mechanics of salvation, urging the cleric to thoroughly study and understand biblical context before teaching his congregation.
The doctrinal dispute was triggered by a recent sermon delivered by Pastor Lawal, where he explicitly rejected the notion that salvation is an irreversible state.
Lawal maintained that while Christians can find genuine reassurance through faith in Jesus Christ, the New Testament epistles and Christ’s warnings to the seven churches in Revelation clearly demonstrate that a believer can fall away from the faith through disobedience.
He further argued that relying solely on selected verses like John 3:16 while ignoring broader scriptural calls to holiness fosters a dangerous environment of moral laxity within contemporary ministries.
“Pastor Adedolapo Lawal, sir, I thought you knew better than this, though. According to your own John 3:16, the one who has believed has eternal life and will perish right? Eternal life is quality of life, it is God’s life, you said, so does God’s life see condemnation? Does God’s righteousness perish?”

Responding aggressively to the sermon on social media, Apostle Ayintete dismantled Lawal’s presentation, arguing that there is an essential difference between spiritual birth and spiritual development.
Ayintete asserted that the New Testament epistles were intentionally penned to guide established believers toward spiritual maturity and to correct ungodly lifestyles, rather than serving as an active scorecard to determine whether an individual remains saved.
He emphasized that the gift of eternal life promised by Christ in the gospels is absolute and securely sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Turning his attention to the moral arguments raised by his colleague, the Goodness Nation leader vehemently denied that the teaching of “hyper-grace” is the underlying catalyst for systemic wrongdoing inside modern churches.
Ayintete pushed back by questioning whether conventional denominations that strictly preach holiness are entirely free from internal scandal, listing various mainstream establishments to emphasize his point.
Confident in his doctrinal position, Ayintete concluded by issuing a direct challenge to Pastor Lawal, daring him to coordinate a structured, public live-streamed debate to iron out the scriptural facts of grace out in the open.
