- Ogun Police Arrest Seven Suspects in Multi-Location Crime Crackdown

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested seven suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations carried out across Sango-Ota, Owode-Egba and Agbado communities of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspects were apprehended over allegations bordering on armed robbery, housebreaking, stealing, conspiracy and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

Those arrested were identified as Mubarak Lateef, 17; Pelumi Akintande, 21; Mojeed Sanusi, 28; Damilare Makanjuola, 22; Ezra Modi, 22; Tijani Jubril, 28; and Waris Adebesin, 22.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said three of the suspects were arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident in the Alasia Community area of Sango-Ota.
According to him, Pelumi Akintande, Mojeed Sanusi and Mubarak Lateef were allegedly involved in an attack on a resident during which valuables were forcefully taken.
He explained that police operatives, acting on credible intelligence and information from residents, tracked and arrested the suspects. A locally fabricated cut-to-size pistol and an expended cartridge allegedly used during the operation were recovered.
Babaseyi added that efforts were ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
In a separate operation, operatives attached to the Owode-Egba Division arrested Damilare Makanjuola over alleged housebreaking and stealing in the Ofada area.

Police investigations reportedly linked the suspect to several burglary incidents within Sun City Estate, where electrical appliances, cash exceeding ₦100,000 and other valuables were allegedly stolen. Recovered items have been secured as exhibits.
The command also arrested Tijani Jubril and Ezra Modi for alleged conspiracy and stealing within Treasure Island Estate in Awo Village.
According to the police, the duo was intercepted while attempting to dispose of stolen electrical appliances concealed in a sack after allegedly removing them from a residential building within the estate.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Agbado Division arrested Waris Adebesin for allegedly causing public disturbance and threatening violence around a secondary school environment.
The suspect was reportedly found armed with a knife while creating tension and disrupting movement within the area.
Police said their swift intervention prevented panic and ensured the safety of students, school personnel and other residents. The knife was recovered at the scene.
The command noted that the coordinated operations reflected its commitment to maintaining security and protecting lives and property across the state.
All suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing further investigation, while efforts continue to apprehend other individuals linked to the various crimes.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the operatives for their professionalism and prompt response, while also appreciating members of the public for providing useful information that aided the arrests.
The command further sympathised with victims of the crimes and assured them that justice would be pursued without compromise.
