BREAKING: Why We Arrested Bobrisky – Nigerian Govt Speaks On Viral Report

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border while attempting to leave Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI KT Udo, the NIS revealed that Bobrisky was intercepted during passport checks on October 21.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the arrest took place in line with the NIS’s commitment to securing the nation’s borders.

The statement further explained that Bobrisky is a person of interest in connection with recent issues of public concern and is currently undergoing interrogation.

The NIS indicated that he will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.

The statement read: “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.

The Service wishes to inform the public that Okuneye Idris is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.”

An Immigration source disclosed to Premium Times that Bobrisky was arrested at midnight and detained at the border until this morning, before being transferred to the NIS Lagos zone in Ikeja for further questioning.

The NIS assured the public of its continued dedication to maintaining professionalism and civility in carrying out its responsibilities at Nigeria’s borders.
