Auto-Crash Claims One, Injures Eight In Lagos

A road accident on Lagos Third Mainland Bridge has claimed the life of one person and injures eight others.

The accident was said to have occurred near the Ilaje area, involving two Mazda commercial buses with registration numbers (LND 624 YE) and (EKY 804 YH).
It was gathered that reckless driving was a factor, as both buses had been speeding from the Adeniji Adele axis towards Iyana-Oworonsoki before the crash.
Emergency services from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, was said to arrived promptly, rescuing the eight injured passengers, who sustained serious fractures.
The victims were taken to Gbagada General Hospital by Lagos State Ambulance Services, LASAMBUS, for urgent medical care.
Police operatives from the Bariga and Alonge stations secured the scene to facilitate rescue operations.
LASTMA commiserated with the family of the deceased, restating its commitment to road safety and urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and drive cautiously to prevent such tragedies.
