Bandits Attack Taraba Governor’s Mother, Sister

Suspected bandits reportedly assaulted Jumai Kefas, the mother of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, along with her daughter, Atsi Kefas, on Thursday, December 5.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he attack occurred along Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area.

Confirming the incident, Wukari Council Chairman, Dauda Samaila Agbu, described it as “deeply troubling.” He revealed that Atsi Kefas sustained a gunshot wound during the assault and was initially treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being airlifted to Abuja for advanced medical care.

“Her condition was stabilised before she was transferred to Abuja for further attention,” Agbu told Daily Post. He urged residents to remain calm and assured them that efforts were underway to apprehend those responsible.

The Taraba State Police Command also confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi, who classified it as an armed robbery. However, he did not confirm any direct link between the victims and the governor. Abdullahi noted that one individual in the vehicle was injured during the attack.
