EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 21-year-old England international had struggled with the shoulder issue throughout the 2024–2025 season, often playing through discomfort. Medical assessments revealed that continued strain could aggravate the injury, prompting the decision for surgery.
The operation was performed by Doctors Manuel Leyes and Andrew Wallace, under the supervision of Real Madrid’s Medical Services. The club confirmed that Bellingham has now commenced his rehabilitation process, beginning his recovery ahead of the new La Liga campaign.
Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Luka Modric has completed a move to Italian giants AC Milan on a one-year deal, following the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid. The 38-year-old Croatia captain ends a trophy-laden 12-year spell with Los Blancos, where he wore the iconic No. 10 jersey.
Modric will now wear the No. 14 shirt at the San Siro. Speaking about his transfer, Modric explained that continuing his career in Europe was important to him.
“Why AC Milan? I wanted to stay in Europe and keep playing competitive football,” he told MadridXtra. “I had other offers, but when Milan came, I was convinced. They even came to Croatia to present their project — that really impressed me.”
Modric is expected to make his debut in Milan colours during their pre-season friendly against Arsenal next Wednesday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Serie A.
