EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident took place at Sagwari Layout, Dutse, in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where Obe stated that he built the house with his own money. He revealed that he had been traveling to Benue when he received a call that his home was being invaded by security personnel.
Upon rushing back to Abuja, he was shown legal documents indicating his property had been seized due to unpaid debts linked to a loan taken by his wife.
Obe denied having any prior knowledge of the loan or being contacted by the lender, claiming he had not received any legal notice before the eviction. Witnesses, including military personnel and police officers, were reportedly present as his belongings were scattered on the street.
Expressing his frustration, Obe stated, “This is a house I built with my hard-earned money, and my wife has done her worst.”
He further alleged that his wife, an officer of the Nigerian Air Force, had plotted the eviction and moved some of her belongings out of the house before the incident, including air conditioners.
When reached for comment, Christiana declined to speak, saying, “I am not under any obligation to speak to anyone.” A family member of Obe has called for an investigation into the officers involved, claiming that the court papers used for the eviction might be fake.
