EKO HOT BLOG reports that the accusation came to light on Tuesday after influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, shared a voice recording in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing EFCC operatives.
The recording suggested that Bobrisky used the bribe to avoid prison time following his six-month conviction for naira mutilation in April 2024, claiming he served his sentence in a private lodge instead of a prison.

In response, Bobrisky took to Instagram to refute the claims, stating: “I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information.”
Following the allegations, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede has ordered an investigation into the matter.

The EFCC issued a statement on Tuesday, inviting both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to appear at its Lagos office for questioning. The anti-graft agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that a team of investigators has been assembled to look into the bribery accusations.
The statement read: “Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations involving Idris Okuneye (a.k.a. Bobrisky), following claims made by Martins Vincent Otse (a.k.a. VeryDarkMan). Both parties have been invited to assist with the investigation.”
