How I Obtained Bobrisky’s Phone Recording — VeryDarkMan Opens Up
Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed how he obtained the controversial phone recording of popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.
Otse revealed that the recording was provided by an individual to whom Bobrisky owed money, and he submitted part of this recording to a committee investigating bribery allegations.
On Monday, Otse appeared before the House of Representatives panel, which is investigating allegations of bribery and corruption involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the investigation is being conducted by the Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, following claims made by the activist.
The hearing saw officials from both the EFCC and NCoS present, as lawmakers sought clarity on the alleged corruption within the two institutions. VeryDarkMan had earlier leveled accusations against these agencies, prompting the inquiry.
However, a significant moment occurred when Bobrisky, who had also been summoned by the panel, failed to appear in person and instead sent a lawyer as his representative.
This prompted VeryDarkMan to initially refuse to address the committee, stating that he would only speak if Bobrisky appeared in person. The blogger insisted that his lawyer would speak on his behalf.
Lawmakers, dissatisfied with his refusal, moved a motion compelling Otse to address the committee and present his account regarding the phone recording he had publicly released.
They warned him that failure to comply could lead to the invocation of legislative powers and potential arrest.
After pressure from the committee and intervention by his lawyer, VeryDarkMan finally agreed to address the lawmakers, providing details about the recording and the circumstances under which it was obtained. The session is part of an ongoing investigation into wider claims of bribery and misconduct within Nigeria’s anti-corruption and correctional systems.
This case, involving popular figures like Bobrisky and a widely followed activist, has generated significant public interest and continues to unfold as further inquiries are carried out.
