BREAKING: Nine Family Members Killed as Truck Crashes Into Residential Building in Benue (PHOTOS)

A horrific accident claimed the lives of nine family members in the early hours of yesterday when a truck rammed into a residential building in Okete Village, located along the Otukpo-Adoka road in Benue State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that eyewitnesses said the victims who were asleep at the time of the crash, had no chance to escape. The truck, which was reportedly speeding, lost control and veered off the road before smashing into the building, reducing part of it to rubble.

Local residents rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue the victims, but their efforts were in vain. All nine occupants of the house were confirmed dead.

Authorities have yet to provide details on the truck’s driver, who is believed to have fled the scene. Police officials have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
