“TikTok should remain available to Americans but under American ownership or other ownership that addresses the national security concerns identified by Congress in developing this law,” the statement read.
The Supreme Court made its decision after hearing appeals from TikTok creators and the app’s legal team, who argued against the ban.

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, has repeatedly refused to sell the app, a move that could prevent the ban from taking effect.
