Buhari’s visit to Kogi came amid reports that a bomb explosion killed three people on Thursday morning.
Reports had it that the bomb exploded in the Okene area of the state on Thursday morning. It was learnt that the incident happened at the Oyinoyi’s Palace in the Okenne Local Government Area of the state.
However, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, has deleted some tweets in which he claimed the explosion witnessed in the state on Thursday morning was merely transformer sparks.
The commissioner had, in an immediate reaction to the explosion, taken to the micro-blogging site earlier to say no explosion occurred and the spark injured only one person.
But in a series of tweets, the commissioner described reports of the explosion as a blatant lie.
He said it was a “mere transformer spark which injured one person.”
“Contrary to the blatant lie that there was a bomb explosion that killed three people in Okene, I wish to debunk the falsehood here.
“It was a mere transformer spark which injured one person. Mr President is currently enjoying the hospitality of our people right there at Okene where he is commissioning life-touching projects, executed by Governor Yahaya Bello.
