EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Nigerian-born boxer Anthony Joshua for his victory over American boxer Jermaine Franklin. In a statement issued on Saturday, Buhari praised Joshua’s resilient spirit and commended him for his mental strength in overcoming personal setbacks and obstacles.
The President applauded Joshua’s courage and discipline, both inside and outside of the ring. He also praised the former three-time world heavyweight champion for demonstrating that hard work, patience, dedication, persistence, and humility can lead to success.

Buhari expressed hope that Joshua’s latest victory would be the first step in one of the greatest comebacks in boxing history. He believed that Joshua’s achievements on the world stage would inspire upcoming professionals, particularly sportsmen and women, not to be discouraged by temporary defeats and setbacks.
Joshua defeated Franklin in a unanimous points decision at London’s 02 Arena, marking his first win in over two years. The boxer had lost consecutive bouts to WBA (Super), IBF, and WBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
