It is an open season of chaos and mayhem in Orlu, Imo State, following a fierce clash between Nigerian soldiers and members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the chaos broke out after a Fulani enclave in the community was burnt to the ground by some unknown elements.
Following the baptism of terror unleashed on the Fulani nomads, Nigerian soldiers quickly moved to intervene and restore order, but met with fierce resistance from members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

ESN is a local militia set up by the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who believes that the security apparatus in the country will not do enough to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians, especially Igbos.
According to an eyewitness, who confirmed the incident to EKO HOT BLOG but pleaded anonymity for security reasons, Nigerian soldiers who were expected to quell the chaos ended up fueling the hostilities by killing civilians and dragging away the corpses in their vans, unleashing severe terror on the local community.
As at the time of filing this report, she claimed that two of her neighbours had been killed and their corpses taken by the Nigerian soldiers to erase the evidence of the heinous crime perpetrated on the civilian population of the community.
The Imo State Government is yet to release a statement in response to this recent wave of mayhem which has overtaken Orlu community in the State.
