EKO HOT BLOG reports that Pedro arrived in the US on Sunday to link up with Chelsea’s squad after personal terms were agreed. Following a successful medical, his transfer was confirmed ahead of the Club World Cup registration deadline of July 3. Chelsea are set to face Palmeiras in the quarter-final, and Pedro could make his debut in that fixture.
“Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history. When you are a Chelsea player, you must think one thing — win,” Pedro said after the signing was announced.
The Brazilian, who joined Brighton from Watford for £30 million two years ago, scored 30 goals in 70 appearances for the Seagulls. He has also made three senior appearances for Brazil. However, Pedro missed Brighton’s final two games of the season after a reported training ground dispute with teammate Jan Paul van Hecke.
Pedro becomes the fourth Brighton player to join Chelsea in recent years, following the signings of Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, and Robert Sanchez.
Chelsea, under new manager Enzo Maresca, have been active in the transfer market. The club recently secured striker Liam Delap, midfielder Dario Essugo, and defender Mamadou Sarr. In addition, Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian is expected to join the team after Palmeiras’ Club World Cup campaign.

The Blues are also close to signing Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens in a deal reportedly worth up to €65 million.
