Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that corps members will start receiving ₦77,000 as their monthly allowance from February 2025.

He shared this news while speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State.
According to him, the Federal Government has included the new allowance in the 2025 national budget, and once it is approved, the payment will begin.
He said, “January has already ended, but as soon as the budget is approved, from next month (February), you will start receiving ₦77,000 instead of ₦33,000.”

Ahmed also assured corps members that the government cares about their welfare and safety. He promised that they would not be posted to dangerous areas.
He said, “We will not send corps members to places with security problems. Wherever we post them, they can be sure it’s safe.”
