EKO HOT BLOG reports that the clarification followed reports of a naming mix up, with the Presidency noting that the appointment is still under review.
This was contained in a corrected State House statement issued on Thursday by the spokesperson to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, President Tinubu has so far approved the posting of only three ambassador designates from the 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate.
The Presidency disclosed that Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been posted to France, while Colonel Lateef Are retired was approved as Nigeria’s ambassador designate to the United States of America.
It also stated that Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, a former envoy to South Korea, has been confirmed as the High Commissioner designate to the United Kingdom.
The statement added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to formally notify the governments of the three countries in line with established diplomatic procedures.
The Presidency stressed that no decision has been finalised regarding the posting to Turkey, noting that the review process is ongoing and that a formal announcement will be made once a decision is reached.

It recalled that an earlier statement issued on Thursday night had announced the posting of former Kebbi State governor, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, as ambassador designate to Türkiye, ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit next week.
