EKO HOT BLOG reports that delivering the ruling on Wednesday, Justice Inyang Ekwo directed Anyanwu to serve court notices to INEC and other parties in the suit to allow them to present their arguments before the court.
Anyanwu, through his counsel, Ken Njemanze (SAN), had filed an ex parte motion seeking an order to restrain INEC from acting on any correspondence from the PDP unless signed by him. He also sought to prevent the party’s Acting National Chairman, Amb Umar Damagum, from submitting any document to INEC without his endorsement.
However, Justice Ekwo ruled that while the matter was urgent, the court could not grant the request without first hearing from the defendants. He, therefore, ordered Anyanwu to serve the necessary court documents on INEC and Damagum, with all parties set to appear before the court on February 24 for a full hearing.
