A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued a warrant for the arrest of Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, in connection with an alleged diversion of $345,000.
The order, granted by Justice Alexander Owoeye on Thursday, follows a motion brought before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

During the proceedings, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari, representing the EFCC, informed the court that the commission had filed an application under various sections of the 1999 Constitution and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, seeking a warrant to compel Onyedikachukwu’s appearance in court.
Buhari emphasized that if the manager could not be located, a public summons would be issued declaring him wanted.
The EFCC’s investigation into the matter began after Mercy Chinwo filed a petition alleging that her manager had been receiving royalties from her digital platforms and events without her knowledge or consent.
The gospel singer claimed that Onyedikachukwu had diverted approximately $345,000, failing to remit her rightful share.
Despite efforts to apprehend Onyedikachukwu, the EFCC’s attempts to arrest him were unsuccessful, prompting the application for a warrant.
The court granted the request, with the case adjourned to January 24 for the manager’s arraignment.
