Covenant University Nigeria
Covenant University has once again claimed the top spot in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, reaffirming its leadership in Nigerian higher education.
The Ota-based institution outperformed other leading universities in the country, including the University of Ibadan, Federal University of Technology Akure, and University of Lagos, which ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The rankings evaluated 1,907 universities across 108 countries, using 18 performance indicators in five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry income, and international outlook.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that this year’s rankings analyzed over 134 million citations from 16.5 million research publications and gathered feedback from over 68,000 scholars worldwide.

Other Nigerian universities in the top ten include Bayero University, University of Ilorin, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Afe Babalola University, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, which secured 10th place.
