Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday featuring Asake’s latest track “Active” from the album Lungu Boy as the background music.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s post quickly went viral, amassing 18.7 million views, 1.2 million likes, and over 20,000 comments in under four hours.

This marks the second time Ronaldo has publicly expressed his appreciation for Afrobeats music. In March 2023, he shared a heart-warming video of his children dancing to Rema’s hit song “Calm Down.”

Currently the most followed person on Instagram with 639 million followers, Ronaldo used Asake’s viral track to promote his new YouTube content, which garnered over 313,000 views and 90,000 likes within just three hours of being posted.
