The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairman, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has praised the United Vessels of Love (U-VOL) Foundation for its steadfast efforts in bolstering healthcare services across Nigeria, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this recognition was expressed during the completion of the Foundation’s Second Maternal Health Training Session at St. Charles Hospital and Maternity in Adoka, Benue State.
Dabiri-Erewa noted that U-VOL Foundation’s consistent work in upscaling healthcare delivery has truly justified the National Diaspora Merit Award it received in July 2024 during the National Diaspora Day Celebrations.
She further encouraged the Foundation to maintain its commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in Nigeria.
Faith Adole, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the U-VOL Foundation, emphasized the importance of consistent and intentional efforts in serving underserved communities.
The two-day intensive program trained 19 healthcare providers, including nurses, midwives, public health physicians, and community health workers, equipping them with life-saving skills to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes in Adoka communities.
The U-VOL Foundation’s donation of 19 Direct Relief Midwife kits to St. Charles Hospital and Maternity is a testament to its dedication to providing midwives with essential resources to perform safe facility-based births.
Each kit contains 61 vital items and can facilitate up to 50 safe deliveries.
“Our goal is not just to provide training but also to create sustainable solutions that empower the local workforce,” Adole stated.
She stated further, “This programme is just the beginning. By continuing to train midwives, Public health workers and Physicians, and by collaborating with institutions like the state Ministry of Health and Medical Teaching institutions, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, we are laying the foundations for long-term Maternal Health improvements in Nigeria”.
