The House of Representatives threatens to dismiss NNPCL CEO Mele Kyari if he obstructs the Dangote Refinery’s operations and supports the dismissal of Petroleum Regulatory Authority CEO Farouk Ahmed.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the House of Representatives has vowed to call for the dismissal of the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, if he continues to hinder the smooth operation of the Dangote Refinery.
Deputy spokesman of the House, Philip Agbese, disclosed this on Saturday while briefing journalists in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Additionally, the Benue lawmaker mentioned that the legislative body has already expressed support for the call for the dismissal of the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed.
According to the All Progressives Congress legislator, both the NNPCL and the NMDPRA have demonstrated their intention to work against the Dangote Refinery.
He said, “We have been seeing a lot by way of demarketing campaigns to discredit the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and given the negative impact of this, which has caused panic in the country.
“It is on record that the House directed the President to sack NMDPRA’s CEO.
“The House of Representatives will not hesitate to call for the sack of Mele Kyari if the attempt to destroy the refinery project, a national asset, does not stop immediately.”
