  • Contrary to previous reports claiming a discreet reduction in petrol price from N825 to N815 per litre at Dangote Refinery’s loading gantry, Ukadike affirmed that such reports are not accurate.
  • Recent reports have suggested that Dangote Refinery discreetly implemented a price reduction at its loading gantry, lowering the cost of petrol from N825 to N815 per litre.
  • The lack of official confirmation regarding the recent alleged price reduction has left the matter open to speculation.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has clarified that reports of a fuel price reduction by Dangote Refinery are speculative and incorrect.

IPMAN National Public Relations Officer Chinedu Ukadike stated that the reported price drop has not been reflected in the IPMAN members’ portal and no communication of such reduction has been received from Dangote Industries Limited (DIL).

EDITOR’S PICK

Contrary to previous reports claiming a discreet reduction in petrol price from N825 to N815 per litre at Dangote Refinery’s loading gantry, Ukadike affirmed that such reports are not accurate.

He emphasized that any official updates on fuel pricing would be communicated to IPMAN by the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina.

Ukadike said, “It is not correct that Dangote has reduced its fuel price again. It is speculative.

“We always get price variation from the report of Chiejina. Until now, in our portal, there is no change. It is not to our knowledge.”

Recent reports have suggested that Dangote Refinery discreetly implemented a price reduction at its loading gantry, lowering the cost of petrol from N825 to N815 per litre.

However efforts to confirm this information proved unsuccessful, as Chiejina did not respond to inquiries, nor was a public statement issued by Dangote Industries Limited (DIL).

Dangote Refinery's Fuel Price: No Confirmed Reduction, Says IPMAN

It is worth recalling that Dangote Refinery previously reduced its ex-depot fuel price on February 1, 2025, from N950 to N890 per litre, and again on February 26, 2025, from N890 to N825 per litre.

Chiejina had previously stated that these reductions aimed to drive economic relief for Nigerians in response to declining international crude oil prices and favourable global energy sector developments.

The lack of official confirmation regarding the recent alleged price reduction has left the matter open to speculation.

As of now, the current ex-depot premium motor spirit price at Dangote Refinery remains unconfirmed, and no further details have been provided by DIL representatives.
