The death toll in the bridge collapse in India has risen to 132.
Eko Hot Blog reports that at least 132 people, including children, have now died after a suspension bridge collapsed in India’s western state of Gujarat.

The state’s home minister Harsh Sanghavi gave the update early Monday morning.
This medium had reported how the bridge collapsed into the river with about 400 people on it.
According to Sanghavi, a cable at one end of the bridge appears to have snapped.
Gujarat’s home minister revealed that the state has lodged a criminal complaint against the agency that was handling the maintenance of the bridge, adding that a special investigation committee has been established to investigate the incident.
Chief Minister of India’s Gujarat state, Bhupendra Patel, said personnel from India’s army, navy and air force are assisting in search and rescue operations.
Patel said the armed forces would be assisting the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF)
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has disclosed that the families of the victims will receive money from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
“PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each of those who lost their lives in the mishap in Morbi. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000,” his office tweeted.

A video showed dozens of people holding the wires and remains of the bridge as emergency teams tried to rescue them on Sunday.
