The Defence Headquarters has reported the arrest of a suspected “founding father” of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) by Operation Udoka troops in the South-East.
The announcement was made at a biweekly press briefing on Thursday, where it was revealed that the arrests occurred in Orsu, Imo State, and in the towns of Amaruku and Arochukwu in Abia State.

According to Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the alleged terrorist, identified as Pius Iguh, was apprehended by troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Orsu, Imo State.

Buba described Iguh as a key IPOB member responsible for operations in the Orsu area. In a separate operation, troops from FOB Amaruku detained another prominent IPOB commander, Emmanuel Onwugu, during a raid in the Mbano Local Government Area of Abia State.
The Defence Headquarters also reported the arrest of Ifeanyi Rock, described as a “notorious cult leader,” along with ten of his top commanders.
This arrest was conducted in collaboration with other security forces in Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State.
