Diesel Drama As 40-Year-Old Man Faces Litigation Over 15-Litre Diesel

Titus John, a 40-year-old man has been reportedly arraigned before a magistrate court in Ota, Ogun State.

This is over an alleged theft of 15 litres of diesel valued at N12,975 that belonged to his employer, IHS Mask gas line.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a 40-year-old man, Titus John, has been arraigned before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State for allegedly stealing 15 litres of diesel valued at N12,975 belonging to his employer, IHS Mask gas line. The defendant was charged with stealing and breach of peace.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, the defendant committed the offence on March 26 at the company’s premises located in Ijoko area of Ota. He said that the defendant, who is a staff member, was caught in the act by the company’s security guard.

Adaraloye further explained that the defendant was handed over to the police when he could not explain what he intended to do with the diesel. He also stated that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by refusing to open the Mask gate for people.
The prosecutor added that the offences contravene the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.O.Adeyemi, granted the defendant bail for N50,000 with one surety in like sum. Adeyemi ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun State Government.
The case has been adjourned until June 5 for further hearing.
