- Edo 2020: Obaseki Takes Early Lead As Collation Of Result Commences

As collation of the Edo State election results commences, the incumbent Governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki has emerged winner in five out of 18 local government areas in the state.
Ekohotblog. Com recalled that the Edo State election was conducted yesterday under the surveillance of security operatives.
Our correspondent who witnessed the event reported that a total of 14 parties took part in the election with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (APC) being the major parties in the election.
After all votes were collected, PDP came out leading by a wide gap.
Breaking down the result in five local government in the state, PDP polled 52,999 ahead of APC- 33,686.
According to the result released by the INEC, in Esan South-East, Mr Obaseki scored 10,565 votes while Ize-Iyamu got 9,237 votes.
In Esan North-East, the governor polled 13,579 votes while Mr Ize-Iyamu scored 6,559 votes.
In Esan Central, the governor polled 10,963 votes and Mr Ize-Iyamu got 6,719 votes.
While in Igueben, Mr Obaseki got 7,870 votes while Mr Ize-Iyamu polled 5,199 votes.
And in Uhunmwode South-South, the PDP scored 10,022 while the APC got 5,972 votes.
Results from the remaining 13 local governments are still being awaited.
