In the northeastern Sumy region, two civilians lost their lives in attacks, according to the national police. In the Kharkiv region, which borders Russia, another two civilians were killed, regional governor Oleg Synegubov announced. Rescuers also recovered a body from the rubble of an earlier attack, Synegubov added.
In Donetsk, governor Vadym Filashkin confirmed one civilian death from an attack in the region. Moscow has continued its offensive in Donetsk while simultaneously trying to repel a Ukrainian counter-offensive in Russia’s Kursk border region.
Ukraine is evacuating civilians from Pokrovsk and surrounding areas, located about 10 kilometers (six miles) from active combat, where approximately 50,000 residents remain.
In the southern city of Kherson, which was liberated in the fall of 2022 but remains vulnerable to Russian attacks, two people were killed and five others wounded, according to governor Oleksandr Prokudin.
