The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in partnership with Ebony Life place and Nigerian International Film Summit (NIFS), recently hosted an award show which they tagged the Eko Star Film and TV awards where they celebrated women for their work in the Nigerian film and TV industry.
A lot of famous Nigerian actresses were awarded for their impact in the Nigerian movie industry and among which are – Bimbo Ademoye, Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello, Toyin Abraham, Zainab Balogun, Omowunmi Dada, INI Edo, Dakora Akande, Kate Henshaw, Osas Igbodaro, Nse Ikpe Etim, Omotola Jalade, Sharon Ooja, Joke Silva among others.
Among all these actresses celebrated, Ruth Kadiri’s name was not mentioned and for that, she took to her Instagram page and called out the Lagos state government, Mo abudu and other organisers expressing how she felt about being neglected.
She revealed how she has been hardworking and how she has faced so many challenges being a film maker and yet she wasn’t recognized.
