According to the Eko Club International president, the Oba Agbabiaka ruled with humility despite being surrounded by royal splendour.

Chief Olushi prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, while condoling with his immediate family.

Meanwhile, the monarch passed away barely three months to his 20th coronation anniversary.

In a 2021 interview, he explained how he had been able to gain more achievements than his predecessors due to the help of the Lagos State Government.

“It wasn’t easy becoming a royal father at the beginning. But as time went by, I started enjoying it,” Oba Agbabiaka said.

“With the support of Lagos State government, I have been able to do more than my predecessors. Royalty has been rewarding to me because of the support of my people.

“Friends from all over the world have been of great support to me in developing Isolo in the last 17 years that I have been directing the affairs of the kingdom.”

The monarch also revealed how his past status as a socialite helped him to make friends who brought development to his kingdom.

“Some of my friends in the Diaspora built a maternity, equipped it and provided drugs for the use of people and the community for free.

“Eko Club International, whose President is my friend, and majority of its members, my close associates, built and furnished the community hall for Isolo,” he stated.
